I have been a student of astrology since 1996, when I attended my best friend's chart reading. I must admit I rolled my eyes when she invited me to come along. At that time, with my limited knowledge of the subject, I considered astrology to be meaningless, ludicrous, and something that only desperate and uneducated people would gravitate towards. Needless to say, my mind was forever changed that evening. I was blown away, repeatedly, as the astrologer consistently brought up insights about my friend, her early childhood experience, certain qualities of her parents, her private feelings, and things that I, as her best friend, knew, but could not have possibly been known by this stranger. From that moment on, I was hooked.
Astrology has been a very powerful tool for me, personally, as I work with the energies in my own chart. My life has changed profoundly and the depth of my self-awareness continues to unfold. I have also had the privilege of doing readings for hundreds of people over the years and am still amazed by the accuracy of the information available in a birth chart. I've witnessed countless moments of self-realization and revelation and seen lives and relationships literally transformed. The opportunities for awareness and growth available through the use of astrology are endless. I am a skeptic turned believer.
After the birth of my twins in April 2006, I found myself spending every free moment researching child development and conscious parenting. I am motivated, as I believe most parents are, to be a loving mentor and model for my children, while allowing them the space to flourish and find their personal passion.
As my understanding of children and parenting deepened, I noticed that my astrology practice began to shift. I find it fascinating to examine the charts of parents and their children, noticing the undeniable evidence that children exist to challenge their parents toward becoming more conscious. The charts of the children invariably carry energies that have the potential to support an awakening in their parents and other family members. And, thus, Astrology for Parenting was born!
I am always thrilled for an opportunity to assist parents in understanding what their children are here to teach them. It is very satisfying to be able to give a voice to children who are too young to explain or understand themselves. I am inspired and motivated each time I have the opportunity to plant a seed that has the potential to cultivate a conscious, compassionate relationship between a parent and child. I dream of a world in which all children are respected and supported to recognize their own inherent beauty and perfection and that of those around them.
